A path of Nothingness isn't nothing it is a path of self worth

So where do I begin? It's been two years since I posted anything on this blog. Where I have been? What happened too me? Questions and more questions. The fact is I got bored off everything. My faith, job and life in general. I just decided to do nothing! Though i still went to church and just did life. Though I have real no stories to tell as I didn't do nothing to create stories to tell. Sad really isn't it. Imagine what it would be like for me standing before God at his throne and him asking me, "What did you do for me?"

I will probably have the most empty looking face in heaven as my answer would end up being...Nothing!

It's 2015 and I'm in a newish job. Been in since late 2014. My life has gone full circle once again. I'm in a bakery within a factory setting and I work nights. Church life is pretty much a two Sunday in a month routine with me. The rest of my life consists of working and sleeping. Then the rest is filled up with TV. Which is getting boring really. I try to live my christian life but failing is a concept that is actually a profession for me more so than my job. I have took into drinking beer on my days off which usually starts once I get up in the afternoons after a two to three kip. Though I tell people my drinking is small and that it doesn't take over. I know that to be a lie.
I released that I have been drinking too much when I took a weekend away with my brother and his friends to Kraków for my brothers stag. I was lying in the bathroom being sick when I had this thought flash into my head. "Where is my life going?"
You always hear folks say that those who drink too much say that they will never drink again but truth be told this was a different thought in its self. Mine was one of regret I'm failing God and myself and I have allowed jealousy and self pity to take hold. Jealousy of all those including my brother who are getting married are that are married and I feel lift behind then the self pity falls into that area.
Blindness is what I call it more so as God has been blessing me with my own home to learn independence before he decides to allow a companion on my journey and also he has blessed me with a secure job. I do miss church but I technically am lazy as I can get to church on a Sunday evening if I pushed myself to get out of bed. Your probably wondering why your reading this but the truth of the matter is this. The thought of doing nothing, being lazy, jealousy and self pity is themes that we as Christians struggle with everyday. I'm blogging this as a form of truthfulness showing you that your not alone.

We always feel that we are doing Nothing but in fact we are doing Something! We are working on becoming something more for God so later on in our journeys with Christ we will have life lessons for those who we meet or own children who we will create. We will be able to say that we have been there and there is a way, a path of correction. If it is drink could mean taking less or taking none. Self pity could be away to mature in our faith as we are not alone knowing God is there. Being lazy means getting a kick in the butt to motative ourselves to go to church when we are tired after a long night in work. Jealousy of our loved ones and friends and wishing we had what they have. Though there isn't anything wrong with wanting a family but it might not be our time.

A path of Nothingness isn't nothing it is a path of self worth, maturity and it is knowing that God has more for us when we feel that life has become boring and bland. We all have a story and we all are on a Journey with a God, creator and divine mentor who who knows that nothingness is a lie. You are doing something. Growing!

Serenity

I love the little walks along the river side each morning with my dog. These walks have become more special to me as this was how God got closer to me. Once me and the partner broke up I started to take these walks through the trees and the gentle rollings of the river. I would always take the time to talk to God and draw closer to him while watching my dog chase the little grey squirrels around the trees.
For me this was a place of serenity. Now my times out with dog have been made more special because God tags along.

Craving the closeness of Father.

I love reading about how God walked in the garden with Adam before the corruption took over. It makes you think there is a time were man and God came together as friends and had conversations together and actually met face to face. There was even a time of pure bliss and happiness that knowing all was well in the world.
Even after the corruption in creation consumed us God was finding ways to meet us and have times of fellowship in an one on one, face to face style get togethers. With the first tent being built to house the ark and a place for God to seat and chat to the high priest and to be worshiped, man has been trying to find ways to have that relationship with their creator.
In 2 Samuel 7 vrs 4-6 God comes to Nathan with a word saying he wants a place to dwell and to live in as he has not had a place to live in in such a long time. He has been moving from place to place looking to settle his roots.

5 "Go and tell my servant David, 'Thus says the LORD: Would you build me a house to dwell in?
6 I have not lived in a house since the day I brought up the people of Israel from Egypt to this day, but I have been moving about in a tent for my dwelling.

God had enough of the tent and the constant moving about. It was time to find a permanent place to roost. So God makes a covenant with David that a place shall be built for him to rest. Though david will not get to build this place of dwelling for Yeshua the great man Solomon gets to have this great and mighty job.

See God craves like man to have fellowship with that which he created. He wants to be close. Like the way we want to be close to our kids or the ones we love.

If you skip to the story of new creation and Gods return to this little green and blue ball we call earth we see he comes back to his family and sets up an eternal resting place. We get to be close with him as Adam did.

Though us Christians crave it even more so as we were outcasts and we got adopted into Gods family. This adoption would not have happened until Jesus came into the picture and opened the door for us to join the family.
For me I crave it knowing that Adam and Eve were not our parents as so many creationists would have you believe. The story of creation and communion of God with the father and mother of the Jewish people is a interesting one. Also the fact that us the gentile people or the pagans were the outcasts of Eden and we were not worthy of being in Gods presence.
But Jesus changed that with his awesome work on the cross.

We all crave the idea of being close to original father.

Colossians 3 vrs 1-17 (A good blueprint for a Christian Couple seeking a Godly Relationship)

As i am now in a relationship with a beautiful and a caring girl. I believe that me and Leanne's relationship has to have Christ at the very center. Though at times that is very difficult and sometimes life can throw things at you when we least expect it. We have been going out only four months, but we both agree it seems longer, and we both mean that it a positive way.

Our minister has told us to be very open to each other and to talk about issues that arise in our journey together. We are also to pray about it and to bring our problems to the throne of God. There is times though i struggle with this issue, and i would forget to lay it at his feet.

We are both coming to terms with our pasts, even more so for Leanne. She is a wonderful person, she thinks more about other people and their needs than her own. God is at work in her life, and she is one person that keeps on saying God needs to be at the center of my life.

I have alot to do with life, and one of the things that i am trying to do is learning to trust her. I do trust her, but in past relationships with christian girls they mistreated that trust, our if you like we could use the word "abused" that trust.

I love Leanne and i always try to right by her and i also try to treat her in the way i want to be treated.

Colossians 3 vr 1-17 speaks yes to the church, but i also see it speaking to christian couples who are trying to build their relationship up on the foundation of Gods law for christian living.

Vrs 12-14 are a good blueprint for the christian couple who wanna be more Christ-like in their approach to become a loving and a caring couple. Who love and respect each other in everything they do and share. These verses are known as the fruits of the spirit and are the building blocks for us who are meant to be Kingdom workers for the building up for christs church through the power of the gospel.

But these verses are very powerful and meaningful for a christian couple like me and leanne. They have great value for the very survival of our relationship. If this is off God and we believe it is, then i hope and pray he will bless this relationship and God willing, i know folks this is early days to say this, but if it is in Gods awesome plan i hope and pray that i can marry leanne.

Please pray for us to seek Gods wisdom and his blessing in this journey together.

Peace and blessings

An 2011 update on my Journey

A wee update on my walk on this spiritual journey.

Well folks hope all is well with you all? Hope your all keeping strong in your faith?

For me my walk is going really well, my girlfriend Leanne has a great encourager to me, if it wasn't for her i would not have repented of sins that were conflicting with the way i was living and following God and his plans for our life's.

I can't believe that God has now blessed me with a girl who loves me for me and is also a follower of Jesus.

I have also moved to Leanne's church, and i am under the teaching of a really good teacher called billy, he is also very supportive to me and Leanne.

I will keep you all updated...and also i hope to put wee blog posts up here sometime on things that encourage me.

Peace and blessings

Refocus and a break from it all

So i have turned 26 this week.

I have also grown more grey around the sides of head, so i look like a fatter Mr Stretch from the fantastic four.

I love my life, though there is times i really hate living, but lets not depressing...what i mean by "hate" is this. Within my job i get tested each and everyday. I'm either tested by the attitudes of customers are I'm tested by promises broken by the trust of work mates.

Being a christian within the work place is a testing situation.

We also come to another testing place now. I always have problems with it to. Church!

I don't go much anymore.

Church now is being in a small coffee shop with a few select friends and we just chat about life, Christ and what ever else pops into the conversions.

Some day God permetting he will bring me across a communtiy of people interested in doing church in a coffee shop.

I also don't read the bible much anymore. I am trying to refocus my views. It is hard thing to do......

I will hit on this in the caffinated christians videos that will happen when i feel ready for them....

To be honest right now im look for a wife....lol yes you heard it hear....robert wants to settle down and then hopefully get back into church life sometime....i have become tired and weary of it all....so for the next year the blogs are going on hold...i will twitter my thoughts at @bertynesbitt

God bless and please pray that this of refocus and family life would happen.

Give God the Keys to your Car

So the year is nearly over....

2010 has come and nearly gone....

I have followed Gods call on my life to America once again, i also changed jobs once again.

And one thing i have started to learn this year is who to trust God's will.

I personally found this year very testing.

But i also had so many days of Joy and happiness, i was best man for my Friend Stephen, and it was awesome and honour to take part in that beautiful day.

I fell in love with a kid in Philly.

I seen friends get married and others have kids.

----------------------------------------------

Praise God for those times...

I want to be honest right folks...

I crave a partner...

I crave a family....

-----------------------------------------------

I believe God is in control but there is time folks i want to grab the wheel and say, God move over i wanna drive this Car my way.

-----------------------------------------------

God forgive me, because i have done that many times this year.

I have really messed up this year...

Between blowing my savings on crap i don't really need.

-----------------------------------------------
God's will is following him, trusting him and giving your full life into his hands.

Faith is giving God the Car keys and trusting him to drive to the destination. It is tossing the Sat-Nav out the window and saying to God, "I believe in you, i trust you and i know you can get me there, even if the journey will be rough, i believe you will get me there safely".

------------------------------------------------

I pray God will one day will me to have a family...

I have so much love to give.....

Trusting in Gods will

Isaiah 50

50:1 Thus says the Lord:

“Where is your mother's certificate of divorce,

with which I sent her away?

Or which of my creditors is it

to whom I have sold you?

Behold, for your iniquities you were sold,

and for your transgressions your mother was sent away.

2 Why, when I came, was there no man;

why, when I called, was there no one to answer?

Is my hand shortened, that it cannot redeem?

Or have I no power to deliver?

Behold, by my rebuke I dry up the sea,

I make the rivers a desert;

their fish stink for lack of water

and die of thirst.

3 I clothe the heavens with blackness

and make sackcloth their covering.”

4 The Lord God has given me

the tongue of those who are taught,

that I may know how to sustain with a word

him who is weary.

Morning by morning he awakens;

he awakens my ear

to hear as those who are taught.

5 The Lord God has opened my ear,

and I was not rebellious;

I turned not backward.

6 I gave my back to those who strike,

and my cheeks to those who pull out the beard;

I hid not my face

from disgrace and spitting.

7 But the Lord God helps me;

therefore I have not been disgraced;

therefore I have set my face like a flint,

and I know that I shall not be put to shame.

8 He who vindicates me is near.

Who will contend with me?

Let us stand up together.

Who is my adversary?

Let him come near to me.

9 Behold, the Lord God helps me;

who will declare me guilty?

Behold, all of them will wear out like a garment;

the moth will eat them up.

10 Who among you fears the Lord

and obeys the voice of his servant?

Let him who walks in darkness

and has no light

trust in the name of the Lord

and rely on his God.

11 Behold, all you who kindle a fire,

who equip yourselves with burning torches!

Walk by the light of your fire,

and by the torches that you have kindled!

This you have from my hand:

you shall lie down in torment.

Being Real Part One.....Risk taking Generation

I started to get real over the past couple of years. I found the old ways of being Christian boring. There seemed to be alot of rules within the Christian culture that made living dry and dull and that made no sense, and that had no real scripture backup. These sort of rules started makes us into a boring group to be around. The people once called christian became uncool.

Westerns christians for me have a real bad attiude about the world in general.

We tend to call everything

Bad

Evil

Not of God...

But this point "not of God" made no sense to me.

When do we decide what is of God?

Is it wrong for me to bang my head to Musical talents and hard and loud sounds of Iron Maiden?

Is it wrong for me to Ink myself with the Art work of amazing Tattoists?

Is it wrong for me chill with friends over a Cold pint of Guinness....were by the way talks of theology and Christianity always seem to spourt up...

Is it wrong for me to consume a nice spicy hot curry and quench the burning with a Ice Cold bottle of Samuel Adams?

This way of thinking also lead me to start thinking about the old traditions of western christianity and wonder if they even apply to me, a generation who doesnt want to stand in shadows of the old ways of thinking and doing Christianity.

To be honest i just want a Christianity that is real and that i can be real....to be honest...the unsaved peeps dont really take us seriously..because we are not real....

I want to live for God..

I want to Love God...

I want to do Church....

I actually feel that Church could be done anywhere....we could have local pubs on a sunday turned into a small communtiy of people gathering to hear the word and take part in a small waorship gathering.

I also believe that Western Christianity has blew out the flame in alot of the younger generation of Christians. There is a generation of Young Christians that want to be free from the bondage of Church rule and they actually just want to be free to witness to their friends the way they beleive God is calling them to.....

To be free and real is to actually go out and be radical and to take risks.

Am i talking about a Rebellion?

Maybe i am....Could we actually get free from the denomation of Church and get back to Risk taking Church that it was once before..

Can the new generation be the Risk taking Church that we have been waiting and praying for?

Lets hope so....because i want to be part of that......

Anne Rice quits Christianity.....but we shouldnt!!

I have been thinking about what Anne Rice said about quitting Christianity, and i wondered have i ever thought this way before, and the answer is yes. I wasnt for turning away from Jesus, for me it was to rebel agaisnt Christians and who they actually are...

Here is what Anne said: For those who care, and I understand if you don’t: Today I quit being a Christian. I’m out. I remain committed to Christ as always but not to being “Christian” or to being part of Christianity. It’s simply impossible for me to “belong” to this quarrelsome, hostile, disputatious, and deservedly infamous group. For ten years, I’ve tried. I’ve failed. I’m an outsider. My conscience will allow nothing else.

She is right in what she says about us being quarrelsome and hostile. If we are truly honest, we are judgmental. We are busy judging someone for their mistakes, instead of trying to help that person with love and respect, see the error of their ways.

She goes on to say this: As I said below, I quit being a Christian. I’m out. In the name of Christ, I refuse to be anti-gay. I refuse to be anti-feminst. I refuse to be anti-artificial birth control. I refuse to be anti-Democrat. I refuse to be anti-secular humanist. I refuse to be anti-science. I refuse to be anti-life. In the name of Christ, I quit Christianity and being Christian. Amen.

We are all flawed, we are all imperfect...but are still human..full of sin...but by the grace of God we are forgiven....

But i can see way she wants to leave Christianity....but for me i want to stand by my brothers and sisters, because someone needs to pray for them and with them so they can correct themselves.

We got along road to walk before the Church is ever healed of the damages caused by us....

But with the Help of God and his Loving Word we can succeed.....but we have to want to change!!

There is so many splits within the church, and it Breaks God's Heart....

If i have one to say to Anne is this....Trust in God to change his people....

Christ does not quit on us

Life's Gotcha" moment....A must read part of Jesus Manifesto

I thought for todays write up for my blog i would post something from the book Jesus Manifesto that i read and found really intresting.

I say one thing go out and buy it, it is really inspiring to read. It makes you fall more and more in love with Jesus.

It also makes you think about the beauty and majesty of Christ our King.

Enjoy and remember to pick up a copy from Amazon....

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In faith, there is a "gotcha" moment, when Jesus gets you for life. The gotcha moment may take millions of minutes or just one. But when Jesus gets you for life, you begin to live out of Jesus-love. When we present ourselves as "living offereings" to Christ, suddenly questions of what to do and what not to do take on a whole new meaning. Once we are truly sharing our lives with Christ and learning to live His love, then truly Charitas Christi urget nos: "The love of Christ constrains us".
It is not the commandments and the laws that control our behavior. It is the presence of the indwelling Christ and Jesus-love that bothrestrains and releases us. A relational Christ ethic is why Paul said Christians don't have sex with prositiues. Since Christ is living His resurrected life in and through you, would you want Jesus to share that purchase of lust with you? Would Jesus treat any woman like a purchase? The commandements are paper handcuffs compared to Jesus' love strands. It is "the love of Christ" that impels, compels, and propels us--a love that is so captivating we become free to do it all...in love, with love, for love.
Of the millions of words dicated by the gifted Latin-speaking Christian Augustine, bishop of Hippo (354-430), these are perhaps the most important but also the most misread: Dilige, et quod vis fac, "Love God, and do what you will." If you love God, or love another, the one thing you cannot do is what you will, for love bends the will. To live in God's love is not license for hedonism, but liberty for sacrifical living where we're all working off the same brief, which reads, " As i have loved you, so you must love one another" and Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends."
To live the "incarnate life" is to do little large. God does little large. That is the story of the incarnation, and that is the metanarrative of the Bible. At the heart of orthodoxy and paradoxy: the paradpx of the littlest revealing the largest and the finite revealing the infinite. The incarnation is both once-and-for-all and ongoing, as the One who "was and who is to come" now is, and lives His resurrection life in and through us. An "already now" participates in the "still not yet."

Regeneration Church

I have been chatting to a friend of mine who runs a christian radio station here in Ireland, we had such an amazing chat.

The big topic that came up was about the organic church or the house church groups that have started to make it pretty big around the UK.

I love the idea of church planting, but one thing this friend made me realise was this "do we really want to start another church group, do we really want to take people out from within the churches that they are already part of?"

do we really want to split the church up anymore?

i said no.....

he then asked me what do you think needs to happen?

I said we need to send a teaching pastor and leaders into those dying churches and plant a new seed within it and Regenerate the body that is already there. We need to bring the heart of the gospel and the saving grace of Christ back into it.

But from my experience we need to hit tradition on the head...because the old ways of doing church in Ireland is full of man-made laws and dogma which has no place in Kingdom work of Christ...

There is a younger generation growing up that i call the Un-Churched....

They have been brought up with Religious hate and war...Catholic verses Protestants....

We need to get past this so we can move forward.

Regeneration of the dying churches is a way forward...

There is churches here in Ireland that are growing....spiritually and also by member's...we need to teach these member 's to grow and mature through the Word of God..so someday they can possibly work within these churches...

We need leaders who are rooted in the word...and who are willing to take a step to birth a new generation of Christian's.

Out with the Old ways and in with the New ways.....back to the Gospel...back to Jesus Christ....out with man-made laws...back in With Christ.....

Regeneration of the Church

God is in Control

One thing i'm learning is this......God is in Control

I'm looking for a new job at the moment due to the one that i am in is coming to an end.

I have grown tired with the Car business...and i feel restless and burnt out spiritually...

When i was on the mission trip to amercia i felt a real joy and peace when i was working with the kids.

I believe God is in control of my life so i know that everything that has happened is by his will.

But there is a select view that keeps making a fuss over nothing, trying to make me worry about work and money.

So this is what i say....shut up.....making a brother stumble in his faith is wrong and unbibical....

God controls my life....

I just pray that i could go back into the ministry.....

A prayer...... a Plea....My heart crys out

You know the way some people suffer from home sickness?

well i think im like that right now.....but mine isnt home sickness....mine is Kingdom Sickness.....im missing the whole experience of being with other christians working 27/4 for 2-3weeks together with the kids of West-Philly.

I have a craving of returning.......i loved working with kids in that sort of Ministry......it is fulfilling....it is meaningful....it brings a joy into your heart, that you have done right by God today...you have taught the kids about Jesus' love for them...and you showed them that love, by being with them, playing games, talking to them and hugging them while they cry....

O how i love to be in that place full-time...i love to give up my car and my job and just work within the Kingdom forever.....thats were i feel happy...i dont feel happy within my job....i try to...but!! my heart just breaks for the kids of philly....

God put me back on the plane to Philly...this is my prayer....use me there......this is my plea.....My heart crys out.......amen

God loves West Philly

Well what can i say, another two weeks is over and so is the mission trip to West Philly Spruce Hill Christian School.

What a Awesome time we had....

The Kids were amazing, God was moving...we had over 200 children it was bigger than last year.....

33 Northern Irish folks went over and worked with around 30 american folks.....

The team was by far the best i have worked with....we worked as a christian community and there was unity between us all.

It was also a hard time....the weather was hot and we got hit by a freak storm...but heck that didnt stop us...we fought on and preachered and taught the gospel to the kids....

we had amazing trips for the kids.....there was messy games...there was music...and great skits.....

bible buddys was awesome...i got to lead my own bible group..andi fell in love with them all.

But i fell in love with one kid called Israel....he made a big impact in my life...and i wont forget him...he was shy, scarred, lonely and he had a story to tell about his life...he is around 8 years old....his dad left the family...so he has no father figure....after two weeks i became that father figure...i shared so much love with....and well it is even hard now to type this....because my heart is broken...i wish i never left....because i want to keep helping him....

so i have written him a letter...and will post it off soon......he give me a card that he made me...i will not let that go....miss you buddy....

i miss philly so much..my heart is always with that city and the kids of it.....God is moving there folks....

so many church plants going on....camden and around the city area....pray for philly so souls would be saved.....pray also that Jesus will move the hearts of the other churchs to work together there for the people of west philly....

God bless Philly....

Love you all..

peace

end time talk is very depressing!!

I find end time teachers very depressing, all they ever talk about is the future and how the world is going to end.

They are always looking for the anti-christ and putting other christians down when they dont teach end time theology in the church.

but who really cares anymore?

we know Jesus is coming back..so why worry?

look Jesus didnt create us so we can worry about tomorrow...he wants us to focus on the now...

the world is depressing enough without some doom and gloom preacher freaking the life out of people.

God will save people when God is good and ready....we just have to work the fields and become more like Jesus.

alot of people know me..and one thing they can tell is this....robert was caught up in End time theology when i was younger...

i found it actually a stumbling block to my faith....you are to busy looking for signs and antichrists....but you dont see the signs that someone needs the love and compassion of God.

i find it sad millions of Gods money is wasted on stupid endtime movies and books...when we already know the truth....

stop depressing people.....and start building people up for Gods Kingdom.

6 weeks

i cant believe it is only six more weeks and im off to America again.

I will be working in West Philly in a place called Spurce Hill.

I was there last year, i was part of a team who ran a hoilday camp within a school...we taught the Kids about the Kingdom of God....im wearing one of the t-shirts as i type this lol.....

The kids are amazing..i love the lot of them...and i look forward to reconnecting with them all again, and also i look forward to meeting new kids and sharing the Gosple and the Love of Jesus with them....

Praying that God will get all the glory...and that we will see lives changed and restored.....

The count down has started......the N-Irish are returning!!
